Polat Holding and BASE, who are preparing to celebrate the 100th anniversary to establishment of the Republic of Turkiye with a sculpture and public art project, are evaluating artist applications from all over Turkiye with expert jury members in the field. The selected artworks will meet art enthusiasts at Polat Piyalepaşa Çarşı Strip Mall, Istanbul's new art and gastronomy destination, in October 2023.
The special interest and support that the founding leader of our Republic, Atatürk, had for art and artists, and its positive impact on renewal and modernization, are undeniable. With the aim of preserving Atatürk's appreciation for Turkish art, Polat Holding, one of Turkiye's oldest and most reliable brands, is preparing for the "Together and Into the Future" 100th Year Exhibition, which will consist of outdoor sculptures and installations in collaboration with BASE Istanbul to celebrate the Republic's 100th year.
Artworks selected from hundreds of applications from all over Turkiye, which closed in July, will be displayed at Polat Piyalepaşa Çarşı Strip Mall, adding a modern interpretation to the dynamics of the city under the assurance of Polat. The exhibition, which will encourage and support artists who will create immortal works on the 100th anniversary of the Republic, aims to create new encounters for art to be accessible and passed on to the future. These encounters promise significant experiences both in evaluating contemporary art and in the relationship between society and art.
